The Grand Shahala is a slow burn romantic fantasy with no spice in book one, however there will be intimate scenes as the story progresses. The narrative deals with issues of servitude, abuse, misogyny, identity, and parental neglect from within a patriarchal society and the impact this has on one’s mental health. There are also elements of magically altering/combining animals, non-consensual magical bonding, and intense racing scenes. There is a very brief discussion of a mistaken assumption of past sexual assault (chapter 12), the incident did not take place between the MCs.
